Plage du Clipon
France · Hauts-de-France (Nord)
Located opposite the town of Loon-Plage, the Clipon beach is one of the wildest and most challenging spots on the northern coast. Bordered by an industrial area and a long dune cordon, it offers a unique feeling of being at the end of the world in the region. Huge, raw, and exposed, this beach attracts experienced riders looking for powerful conditions, unlimited space, and true marine navigation. Here, there are no facilities or comforts: the Clipon is earned and respected.

Navigation takes place in open sea, on a beach very exposed to winds and tides. The dominant wind blows from west to northwest, often side to side-onshore. At low tide, the beach is gigantic and allows for comfortable launches far from the water. At high tide, the space reduces significantly and navigation becomes more technical. The water surface is mostly rough to very rough, with choppy conditions and clean waves depending on the wind strength.
