Informations utiles
The beach is oriented north-south, exposed to west winds that become side-shore or side-on perfect for riding. The ideal directions are SW, WSW, W, WNW, NW, confirmed by locals and windguru-like forecasts showing good holding in these quadrants.
Direct water entry from the sand, with no major obstacles. Wide navigation area in front of the beach, about 500m to 1km offshore before the more formed waves. Launching on dry beach, watch out for walkers in summer.
Water in wave when the wind is cross-off from the NW, with waves of 1 to 2m in winter. In pure side-shore (W-SW), it gets a bit choppy but remains rideable. No extreme tides like in the Atlantic, but low amplitude (1-2m) that has little influence on the spot.
Ideal conditions with 15-25 kts from SW to NW, clean side-shore for rideable waves without excessive drift.
Water mostly in wave with northwest swell, short waves of 1-2m. Moderate chop in side-shore, ideal for accessible wave riding.
In pure WSW wind, it flattens a bit near the shore for freestyle.
Generally weak currents on this exposed coast. Beware of areas near channels where it can pull offshore in strong winds.
Semi-diurnal tides with low amplitude (0.5-1m), no major impact on navigation.
Prefer sizes 9 to 12m² in mid-season, 7-9m² for windy winter days and 12-14m² in light summer.
The dominant wind comes from the west and northwest, often 15-25 kts in the active season. No specific local name, but low-pressure fronts from the North Sea bring regular sessions.
Average strength 10-20 kts in summer, up to 30+ kts in winter with gusts. Forecasts show good consistency in the SW to NW directions.
Cold oceanic climate of Halland County, with harsh winters around 0 to 5°C and mild summers at 15-20°C. Frequent rain throughout the year, but the wind remains reliable.
Best period from October to April for kitesurfing, with regular storms. Avoid July-August if looking for strong winds.
Gradual depth with pure sandy bottom. You can stand up to 50-100m from the shore, perfect for schools or shallow water.
Freezing water in winter at 4-8°C, rising to 12-16°C in July-August. 5/4 wetsuit required year-round.
