The beach stretches for a kilometer with a gradual entry into the water, ideal for launching. It attracts tourists in summer but remains suitable for kitesurfing due to the favorable conditions.

Platja d'Altafulla is oriented east, which favors side-on winds from the southeast or southwest for a stable water surface. The navigation area is wide in front of the beach, with easy launching on fine sand and a medium-sized take-off zone.
No dependence on tides, conditions remain consistent in chop and small waves. In high summer season, check local restrictions as kitesurfing may be limited in certain areas of Catalonia, but Altafulla remains accessible outside tourist peaks.
The current is weak, allowing freeride or freestyle sessions with minimal risks. The best areas are in the center of the beach to avoid swimmers.
