Muscat Beach
Oman · Mascate
Qurum Beach in Muscat is a large stretch of sand that widens at low tide and still offers plenty of space even at high tide. It is a popular spot for riders due to its easy access from the city and its clear water.
The thermal wind picks up mainly in the afternoon during the cool season from November to April. The beach is public with easy parking along Beach Street.
Close to the center of Muscat, it is a convenient place for quick sessions after work or on weekends.
Historical averages by month — not a live forecast.
The spot works well with north or northwest winds, often onshore or side-on from the sea, sheltered by the coastline configuration. The water surface varies with the tides: flat at high tide with shallow water that gradually rises, ideal for beginners; more choppy at low tide where the beach widens but you need to sail a bit further for foiling.
Launching is easy on the clean sand, with a large take-off area along the entire length of the beach. The sailing area extends several hundred meters offshore, with crystal clear and shallow water near the shore. Be cautious of tide changes that affect the water surface, shifting from flat to choppy or even small waves.
The best time is in the afternoon with the thermal, and the spot is not crowded except on weekends. Ample parking and direct access from Beach Street.
