The launch is easy and accessible from the large sandy beach. The lagoon offers vast stretches of shallow water, ideal for progressing safely. The beach is well cleared and provides a good launch area. The spot is less crowded than some other places on the island, offering more space to navigate. It is possible to do interesting downwinds heading towards Île aux Serpents.
The ideal conditions occur with a regular and constant southwest wind, typical of the dry season. A wind of 12 to 18 knots offers the best conditions for most riders. These conditions are particularly frequent from May to October, when the trade winds are at their most stable. The side-on wind creates a perfect balance between power and control.
