The Spiaggia beach at Katibubbo, located near Mazara del Vallo in South-West Sicily, is a sandy cove bordered by a coastal road. It is a popular alternative spot when the nearby Puzziteddu is crowded, with a calm atmosphere and few facilities.
The launch is directly from the fine beach, in a 200-300 meter area dedicated to kitesurfing. The water is colder than at Lo Stagnone and deepens quickly, unlike the neighboring lagoon.
Schools like Wind Resort offer accommodation and lessons nearby, with easy access from Trapani-Birgi airport, 40 km away.

The Katibubbo spot offers varied water conditions: choppy in summer with thermal winds, and waves from small to medium up to 4 meters in winter during storms. The ideal orientation is side-shore from N, NW, W, ESE, or SE, with a dominant thermal wind in summer around 15 knots.
The navigation area extends across the bay, with a launch on a narrow but navigable beach. The launch area is small, so be cautious of the crowd on weekends and holidays. If too crowded, move west to the next bay.
No tidal influence on conditions, the sandy bottom is safe with no submerged rocks. The water deepens at 30 meters from the shore, ideal for freestyle or waves but less so for absolute beginners compared to Lo Stagnone.
Ideal conditions are a side-shore NW or W wind at 15-25 knots, for a choppy water surface suitable for freestyle or small waves.
The water state is choppy or flat in summer with thermals, and wavy in winter up to 4m. The bottom is fine sandy, with no biological hazards or rocks.

Opt for sizes of 9 to 12m² in summer thermals, and 7 to 10m² for stronger winds in winter.
