France · Occitanie
The Honneur Beach at Marseillan Plage is the central beach of the seaside resort in Occitanie. It stretches from the port to the Rieu beach, with easy access from the Avenue de la Méditerranée and nearby parking.
It is a kitesurfing spot known to riders for its favorable wind conditions on the Mediterranean coast. In summer, it is monitored with a lifeguard station and equipped for people with reduced mobility thanks to the tiralos.
Close to the city center, it offers a lively atmosphere with restaurants and water activities, while remaining accessible year-round for kiting outside the summer season.
Historical averages by month — not a live forecast.
The Honour Beach is oriented facing southeast, which favors a side-on to side-shore dominant wind from the northwest or west-northwest, typical of the Thau lagoon region. The water surface is generally chop with small short waves of 0.4 to 0.5 m according to local forecasts, influenced by the weak tides in the Mediterranean.
The navigation area is wide along the beach, but limited in summer by the marking of swimming areas where kitesurfing is prohibited except in specific spaces. Launching is done directly from the fine sand, easy and obstacle-free year-round, with a large area dedicated off-season for takeoff without hassle.
Be cautious of beachgoers in July-August; navigate wide towards the open sea or towards the port of Marseillan. Local schools like KITHAU offer organized outings to identify authorized areas. The wind is consistent but can pick up quickly, ideal for freeride or foil in clean side-shore conditions.
