Øer
Øer Strand is a kitesurf spot located east of Aarhus, in the Central Jutland region of Denmark. It is a true paradise for freestyle thanks to its flat and shallow waters that stretch for hundreds of meters.
The beach is wide and sandy, with plenty of space to set up your gear and ride without feeling cramped. Locals often come here for quiet sessions, especially when the wind is well established.
The atmosphere is relaxed, with few people outside the summer season, making it an ideal choice for progressing in peace.

Informations utiles
The spot works best with northwest or southwest winds, which are side-on or side-shore relative to the north-south oriented beach. With northeast, east, southeast, or south winds, it is optimal for all levels, while west or southwest can be a bit more gusty as it passes over wooded land before arriving.
Launching is easy everywhere on the wide beach, and the take-off area is huge without obstacles. The water is super flat and shallow up to 300-400 meters from the shore, allowing for boosting without risk and easily retrieving your board. The water remains tide independent, with no major changes according to tides.
The navigation area extends for several kilometers along the coast, with a sandy bottom everywhere. It is perfect for freestyle, jumps, and learning, but in summer, stay alert for swimmers in marked areas.
Ideal conditions are side-on winds of 15-25 knots coming from the northwest or southwest, for a smooth and powerful water surface.
The water surface is generally flat to light chop, with small waves possible from east winds. The sandy bottom ensures a soft landing in case of a fall.
Currents are weak or nonexistent at this shallow spot. Tides do not significantly impact navigation, making the spot independent of coefficients.
Opt for 9 to 12 m² kite sizes in typical conditions, smaller like 7-9 m² in strong winds, and 11-13 m² when it's light.
The wind is frontal, often around SW, WSW, W, WNW, NW, with regular strengths suitable for kitesurfing. A recent example shows winds of 278° at 52/100 on the score, indicating solid conditions but to be monitored for consistency.
The climate is typical of Denmark, with cool temperatures year-round. The best months for kiting are January, February, March, April, May, October, November, and December, when the wind is more consistent. In summer, it is mild but more crowded on the beach.
The depth is gradual and very shallow, with feet up to 300-400 m from the shore. The bottom is entirely sandy, ideal for all levels.
Water temperatures are cool, around 10-15°C in spring and autumn, and 18-22°C in summer. A full wetsuit is recommended year-round.
