Egense Strand is a discreet spot on the coast of Limfjord in Northern Denmark. It is easily accessible from Egense, with a narrow beach lined with dunes and a small marina nearby.
It is a quiet place, favored by locals for its simplicity and shallow water that is well-suited for calm sessions. The atmosphere is relaxed, away from more touristy spots.
The landscape is typical of the region: grass, sand, and pebbles, with a road not far away to watch out for.

The spot mainly works with west winds to onshore or side-onshore, which are the most frequent in the Limfjord area. Launching takes place on a narrow beach with sand, pebbles, and a grassy area for takeoff, but be cautious of the road about 100m downwind.
The water is flat to slightly choppy, shallow for 100m from the shore, ideal for freeride or freestyle. The navigation area is small, so stay vigilant about available space and avoid going too far.
No notable tide influence here, the water remains stable. Frontal winds can be stable but sometimes gusty, with a typical strength of 8 to 20 knots depending on the season.
Ideal conditions with winds E to WSW, 10-20 knots, side-onshore for a clean and stable water surface. Avoid overly offshore winds that limit space.
The water surface is flat to choppy, with shallow water and a mixed bottom. Conditions suitable for foil or wakestyle in light wind.
Currents are generally weak in the Limfjord, but be cautious near the marina or potential channels. No significant tide affecting navigation.
Opt for sizes 9 to 11m in average conditions, up to 12-13m in light summer winds, and 7-9m in autumn or windier winter.
The winds are frontal, often stable with main offshore directions E, SE, SSE, NNE. They pick up in the afternoon or mid-day, with averages of 8-15 knots in spring and autumn, lighter in summer.
Best months: March, April, May, September, October, November for optimal consistency.
The climate is cold and oceanic, with air temperatures around 20°C in summer and rarely below zero in winter thanks to the Gulf Stream. The water does not exceed 21°C in summer, and can freeze in winter in the fjord.
The main season runs from March to October, with long wetsuits off-season and a shorty sufficient in summer.
The depth is progressive, shallow for 100m with a sandy, pebbly, and grassy bottom. You can stand for a long time, perfect for beginners.
In summer, the water reaches 18-21°C, a shorty is sufficient. Spring and autumn around 12-16°C, normal wetsuit recommended. Winter 5-10°C, thick wetsuit required.
