The spot is suitable for all levels thanks to its generally chop water and relaxed atmosphere. Locals appreciate it for its easy access and potential for consistent wind.

The spot at Ahl Strand works well with winds from northeast, east, southeast, and south, which are the most stable and direct on the beach. For experienced riders, winds from the west and southwest also work, but they can be a bit gusty after crossing wooded areas. Launching is done directly from the wide, sandy beach, which is easy to access.
The riding area extends over a good portion of the east coast, with space to maneuver without too much traffic, especially outside the summer season. The water surface is chop most of the time, particularly with strong wind, which offers good training for jibes and tricks. There are no pronounced flat areas, but the water remains manageable for all levels.
In summer, be cautious of swimmers and other beach users; respect the designated areas. Launching takes place on the sand near the water, with few obstacles. Tides have a moderate impact, but always check the schedules to avoid overly busy times.
Ideal conditions are winds of 15-25 knots from northeast to southeast, stable and side-shore for a smooth water surface. Perfect for long sessions without fatigue.
The water is generally chop, with variable conditions depending on wind strength. No significant waves, but a lively water surface ideal for freeride and freestyle training.
The current is weak to none offshore of Ahl Strand, making navigation serene for everyone. However, be cautious of local variations near the coast in case of strong winds.
Opt for sizes between 9 and 12 m² in moderate winds, and 7 to 9 m² when it exceeds 20 knots. Adjust according to your weight and style.
The winds are frontal, with an average strength of 15 to 30 knots in spring and autumn, the most reliable periods. The dominant directions come from the west and southwest, stable due to the surrounding terrain.
In summer, the wind is lighter, around 6 to 12 knots, while in autumn and winter, it rises to 10-20 knots with occasional storms.
The kitesurfing season runs from April to November, with spring air temperatures between 10 and 20°C, up to 30°C in summer and 10-16°C in autumn. Winters are cold but manageable for the more motivated.
The climate is typical of Danish coasts, with frequent weather fronts bringing consistent wind outside of summer.
The depth increases quickly after a few meters, with a sandy bottom. You can stand in a small area near the shore, ideal for waterstarts, but be cautious of drift.
The water is at 8-13°C in spring, rises to 18-23°C in summer, and drops back to 10-15°C in autumn. A 5/4 mm wetsuit is recommended most of the time.
