The main wind comes from the east, cross-onshore or onshore relative to the east-facing beach, which always pushes riders towards the shore in case of trouble. Launching is done directly from the sandy beach, wide and obstacle-free. The launch area is spacious thanks to the 3 km of beach, even in high season. You ride on a mix of flat near the shore and small waves further out, ideal for getting into wave kiting.
The schools organize shuttles from Santa Maria, just 5 minutes by car. In front of the ION Club center in Santa Maria, the wind is side-offshore and reserved for experts, but Kitebeach is the number one choice for all levels with its clear water and consistent conditions.
