The beach of Riva-Bella faces west, which favors onshore or side-on winds from the northwest and west, the most effective for riding. The launch area is directly from the wide and clean sand, with a clear take-off zone along the entire length of the beach. The navigation area extends several hundred meters offshore but remains shallow near the shore, ideal for beginners who can stand for a long time.
Depending on the tides, the water surface changes from flat to chop at low tide with a visible bottom, to more agitated at high tide under strong winds. Be cautious of ferries leaving the nearby port, marking a prohibited zone to the north. The best runs are towards the south towards Merville-Franceville, where the space is larger. In NW side-shore, the wind is perfectly side-on from the beach, allowing for long sessions without complicated upwind.
Schools like Kite-R offer lessons and equipment on-site, with parking and showers. Prefer the rising tide slots for more depth and less soft sand.
