The Mine d'Or beach in Pénestin is one of the most beautiful beaches in Brittany, bordered by high ochre cliffs that give it a unique character. It is a spot renowned for kitesurfing and windsurfing, particularly popular in summer. The beach is well-equipped with easy access via a gently sloping path from a free parking area, and it has nearby restaurants. The atmosphere is relaxed, blending family swimming and sliding sports.

The Mine d'Or beach offers typical chop conditions of an exposed coastal area. The dominant wind comes from the west to northwest sector, creating a side-shore to side-on orientation depending on the precise conditions. The water remains relatively closed and protected compared to other Breton spots, making it an exceptional site for initiation.
At low tide, the beach extends significantly and offers a very wide navigation area with a stable sandy bottom. At high tide, the space reduces but remains sufficient for kitesurfing practice. Access to the north of the beach at Lomer beach allows for good organization of launch and navigation zones. Conditions are generally regular and predictable, which explains the spot's popularity among schools and local riders.
