Grau-du-Roi offers several possible wind orientations: North-North-West, North-West, West, South-West, South, and South-South-East. At the beach of l'Espiguette, only ride with South orientations for your safety.
Northern, North-Eastern, Eastern, and South-Eastern winds are very turbulent and push out to sea. It is strongly advised not to get in the water in these conditions. Access to the spot requires a 15-minute walk through the dunes from the parking lot, which requires good organization of gear.
