The wind mainly comes from the north, creating a perfect left cross-shore when exiting the water, making the spot ideal for beginners and slalomers. The launch is directly from the wide sandy beach in front of the Harry Nass center at the Mercure Hotel, with a spacious and obstacle-free launch area. For beginners, a shuttle boat takes you to the shallow sandbanks, where the water remains flat and you can stand for a long time.
The riding area is wide, in a protected bay that offers a flat to light chop water surface depending on wind strength, with enough space to maneuver without disturbing others. Tides influence the spot little, but water levels vary; the main areas remain usable. Be cautious of the piers from neighboring hotels, which delimit swimming spaces; the center ensures dedicated access for kitesurfing. The thermal wind often blows in the afternoon, stronger in season (12-18 knots typical), and can rise to 20-35 knots sometimes with gusts in the valley.
For advanced riders, the space allows for high boosts and hard edging south, with more power. It is a pure freeride spot, with no waves, but with a true luxury of space compared to the other crowded beaches in Hurghada.
