Praia da Alagoa mainly works with a wind from the W to NW sector, often in side-shore to side-on depending on the exact orientation of the flow. With conditions forecasted around 15 knots, it is a decent session for intermediate kites, especially on foil or recent twin-tips. The beach is wide, which facilitates launching and setup, but one must keep a margin from swimmers in season.
The water surface is generally quite calm to slightly choppy, with a flatter tendency at low tide and a bit more irregular when the swell comes in or when the wind picks up. The spot remains interesting for clean riding on a long stretch of sand, without major technical difficulty. Launching is done directly from the beach, with a simple start, but one must monitor the swimming area and stay well clear of families in summer.
The water level is generally gradual, with a sandy bottom, which reassures most outings. The best windows occur when the wind is well established and the beach is not too crowded. It is a pleasant spot for clean riding, without major traps, but it requires discipline in the launching and landing zones.
