Strand Monster, on the coast of South Holland, is a popular spot for its easy access and proximity to the Zandmotor. It is an area known by locals for alternating between flat water riding and sessions on the small waves offshore.
The spot mainly attracts riders looking for a convenient setting near Den Haag, with a fairly relaxed beach atmosphere. In season, one must deal with local rules and an area that can be very busy, especially when the lagoon is well filled.

The wind most often works in a side-shore to side-on manner depending on the orientation, with a good riding range when it comes from NW to W, and more broadly in a sector ranging from NE to SW according to descriptions of the Zandmotor. The lagoon side offers a calmer water surface when it is well fed by the tide, while the offshore area provides access to more formed riding at sea.
Launching is done from the beach, and access is via paths and stairs to the waterfront. Local schools indicate that one must walk north from the parking lots to reach the practice area, remaining attentive to signs and authorized sectors. The lagoon is small at low tide, with little space to rig and launch, so it is necessary to arrive early and maintain a safe distance from other riders.
Conditions are more comfortable when the lagoon is well filled at high tide, as the space becomes more usable for water starts and maneuvers. However, at low tide, the volume of available water decreases quickly and the area becomes more technical, especially if the wind picks up or if the spot is crowded.
