The Linès beach in Plouhinec, Brittany, is a vast stretch of wild sand bordered by military land and the departmental road. It marks the western limit with Gâvres and extends several kilometers to the east.
It is a popular spot for kitesurfing on the ocean side, with access via stairs and a parking lot open every day in summer, otherwise on weekends off-season. The beach attracts families and athletes, in a preserved natural setting.
Local schools like UpandKITE or Kite Spirit offer courses there, making the place accessible to both beginners and advanced riders.

The Linès beach is oriented west/north-west, ideal for winds from West/North-West to South-East passing through South, which often provides a perfect side-shore for riding along the 7 km of wild beach.
Launching is done directly from the beach, but the space for take-off and landing is limited, especially with the proximity of a power line: you must take off and land downwind of this line to avoid risks.
On the ocean side, the water surface varies with the tides: marked shore break at high tide, making launching more technical; at low tide, it’s easier but watch out for rocks. The navigation area extends widely, but favor the west in summer to avoid beachgoers.
In summer, the beach is very crowded, so respect the bathers and opt for more isolated areas. Off-season, check for military firing that may close the spot.
