The Porz Kerzit spot works well with side-on or side-shore winds coming from the W or NW, which sweep the beach oriented towards the west on the Brest harbor. The launch is easy on the fine sand, with a spacious take-off area on the wide beach, especially at high tide when the water rises to the dunes. At low tide, islets emerge and reduce the navigable area, so it is necessary to stay close to the shore to avoid dry areas.
The navigation area extends several hundred meters offshore, with a water surface that goes from flat to choppy depending on the wind strength and tide. The best sessions are during mid-rising tide for more space and less risk. Be cautious of boats in the harbor, especially near navigation channels. The Kite Coaching school uses this spot for its courses, with equipment suited to the changing Breton conditions.
