The La Pointe Espagnole beach, located in La Tremblade on the Côte Sauvage, is the first beach coming from Ronce-les-Bains. Facing directly west towards the Atlantic Ocean, it is bordered by dunes and pine forests that stretch as far as the eye can see. Access is via a 460-meter sandy path from the parking lot, giving the spot a wild and preserved feel.
It is a renowned place for kitesurfing and surfing, with a vast area to navigate. Naturism is tolerated in a specific zone, and dogs are allowed on a leash outside of the surveillance season. In summer, the beach is monitored, but the atmosphere remains calm, away from the crowds.
In the distance, one can see the island of Oléron, and the forest of La Coubre invites for a walk before or after a session.

The beach is oriented directly west, which means that winds from the west and northwest are side-on or side-shore perfect for kitesurfing, while east winds are offshore but risky due to currents. Launching is done directly on the fine sand, wide and easy to access once on the beach, but plan for a 10-minute walk from the parking lot through the forest.
The navigation area is vast, extending for hundreds of meters along the coast, with space to launch the kite without disturbing surfers. At high tide, the water surface is wider and the moderate waves facilitate jumps and freeride. At low tide, rollers form near the shore, but one must remain vigilant about the baïnes.
Local peculiarity: strong cross currents due to the open ocean, especially at low tide. Preferably navigate during rising tide to avoid drifting out to sea. No school on site, it is a spot for independent riders who love raw nature.
