The wind often blows from west to northwest in this area, offering side-off and side-on orientations depending on the precise direction of the flow, which greatly affects the safety of returning to shore. Navigation takes place in an officially marked area subject to municipal decree that specifies channels and practice limits. The main launch is from a small pebble beach and a paved slab surrounded by rocks: one must quickly put on their board and move away from the shore to avoid obstacles and facilitate the entries/exits of other practitioners. The spot has several navigation zones: the main area offshore from the beach, areas close to the rocks at the southern tip to avoid, and boat passage channels to respect. The water surface can be relatively flat in light winds but becomes more disturbed by swell when a depression from the open sea arrives; the proximity of buildings and infrastructure often creates turbulence and wind shifts near the shore. Practice is not recommended for beginners due to landing constraints, rocks, and traffic, and municipal rules must be respected (reserved areas, prohibitions on jumps and acrobatic figures in certain zones).
