Plage de la Salis
France · Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur
The Salis beach, located in Antibes on the Côte d'Azur, offers an urban setting between the bay and the Cap d'Antibes. It is a spot favored by locals for its **summer thermal wind** and its proximity to the port and urban access.
The beach is narrow and quite crowded in summer. The surrounding terrain (parking, fortifications, breakwaters) requires vigilance during take-off and landing phases.

The spot mainly works with East to Southeast wind that often blows inshore/side-on depending on the beach alignment, offering a generally protected water surface but with **chop** and small waves depending on the local swell. The launch is from the main beach, with a small launch area marked at the southern end of the beach. The beach is narrow and very crowded in the summer season, so a reduced take-off area should be planned and coordinated with bathers. To the north are rocks and fortifications (citadel, breakwaters) that should be avoided; to the south is the port which limits the navigation space. With pure East wind, the water surface can be cleaner and favorable for wingfoil and kitefoil, while with more on/offshore winds, the chop increases. The depth is generally shallow near the shore and becomes deeper quickly after the swimming area; practice remains possible without significant dependence on the tide, but the local bathymetry (presence of rocky shallows) requires caution.
