Located just north of the city of Barranquilla, Playa Country Club is the urban spot for local riders. It’s a large urban beach facing the open Caribbean Sea, lined with modern buildings and accessible within minutes from downtown. The wind blows side-onshore (from the right), often sustained, and the water is choppy to wavy depending on the day. The swell from the open sea brings waves of 1 to 2 meters in high season, perfect for strapless surfing or big jumps. The launch area is easy due to the wide beach, but the shorebreak can be energetic when the wind is strong. It’s a demanding spot, more suited for experienced riders than beginners. Freeride or surf enthusiasts will enjoy the power and consistency of the wind, as well as the lively atmosphere at the shore.
