Praia Concha
Brazil · Bahia
Nestled between hills covered with tropical forest and wild coves, Itacaré is a gem of the Bahian coast. Once a fishing village turned surf and kite hotspot, it is a place where nature still reigns: lush cliffs, coconut trees as far as the eye can see, and golden sand. Praia da Concha, located at the northern end of the village, is the main kitesurfing spot, perfectly oriented to catch the steady wind from the Atlantic. It’s a spot with a unique atmosphere: between surf, kite, and slow life, where sessions take place under the gaze of the hills and to the rhythm of the setting sun. The contrast between the lush jungle in the background and the turquoise ocean bordered by blonde sand creates a magical ambiance. Itacaré is not just a place for sliding; it’s a complete tropical experience, filled with nature, friendliness, and a typically Bahian bohemian energy.

The Praia da Concha spot combines the characteristics of the Atlantic coast. The wind blows from east to southeast, side-on, between 16 and 24 knots, mainly from July to January. The water surface is choppy with nice waves at high tide, ideal for surfkite or strapless. At low tide, the swell flattens a bit, creating a smoother surface at the shore, perfect for fluid freeriding. The sandy bottom and absence of rocks ensure comfortable navigation, although waves can sometimes break near the shore. More experienced riders can navigate between the nearby coves, like Praia do Resende or Praia Tiririca, true gems bordered by jungle and rocks, for more intense and wild sessions. The spot offers a rare versatility: freeride, waves, exploration — everything is possible, in a setting of stunning beauty.
